Problem Solved!

This page is dedicated to innovative ways to solve everyday problems or create inexpensive implements, often using unconventional and cost-efficient methods. All were spotted while on this bike tour!

Bike rack made of tires half planted into ground! I freaking love this re-use of tires!!

For all of those who subscribe to cable television, you might not know that satellite TV requires a precise fix on the satellite in a geocsynchronous orbit. Here, the problem was solved with a few tree branches and wood base. But is TV really that necessary?

Can you spot the error? Sure, it's solved, but I think they forgot one!

Let's assume you only have cold water in your shower pipe. Just put an electric heater on top of the shower head to heat up the water. But wait... the heater draws too much currant and always blows the circuit? No problemo! Just put the circuit breaker on the shower wall so you can easily reset it!

Forgot the manhole lid? Put a tire in it. Riohacha, Colombia.

Wheel well BBQ pit. Colombia.

You may think this one is lame, but it‘s not. Have you ever had a toilet over flow? We have all been there, and it can be panic and stressfull, however, with this small hole and slant in the tile, water can easily flow from the toilet (or sink) directly to the shower drain. Now thats what I call Problem Solved! Bogota, Colombia.

5  gallon water container, cut to be a sweeping pan. Streets of Popayan, Colombia.

Lets say you want a sink, but you didn't really design the room to have one. Well just use a copper pipe to hold it up! Panama.

What do do when you only have space for a basketball court or a soccer field? You build both with soccer goals under the hoop. Truly a remarkable space saver.

Stick used to keep pipe from going over drain, Colombia
A trash can made of recyled plastic bottles
Bike that had multiple gears in back, but has the chain tightened only to on gear, thus not needing a rear derailleur
